As reported by Marca, Ramos is set to join Mexican club Monterrey, who are nicknamed Rayados. Ramos is currently in Spain and hasn't yet travelled to Mexico ahead of the move. Monterrey are managed by former Argentina defender Martin Demichelis, who is relishing the prospect of Ramos joining his team. Speaking at a press conference, Demichelis said: 'Can you imagine what Sergio Ramos would mean to Liga MX? It would be an honor for everyone. I hope it can come true.'.

Monterrey already have two Spanish players in their squad in Oliver Torres and Sergio Canales. Ramos commenced his club career at Sevilla before signing for Real Madrid in 2005. He remained at Real until 2021 and played 671 games for the club, scoring 101 goals. Ramos won the Champions League four times with Real, while he won LaLiga on five occasions and the Copa Del Rey twice. Ramos also had a spell at Paris Saint-Germain between 2021 and 2023, winning Ligue 1 twice.
