RONNIE O'SULLIVAN hailed a stunning pot by Judd Trump at the Masters as "shot of the season". The world No1 made the semi-final at Alexandra Palace before losing to eventual runner-up Kyren Wilson. O'Sullivan, who pulled out the Masters on medical grounds, was in the Eurosport final last night as Shaun Murphy clinched glory.

The Rocket was asked what his moment of the tournament was, with him praising a brilliant performance by Trump. In the quarter-final, the 2019 world champion came from 3-1 down to beat Ding Junhui 6-3. The sensational comeback saw Trump fire in several incredible pots, with one long red at 4-3 up catching O'Sullivan's eye.

He said: "I think the performance from Judd Trump against Ding Junhui from 3-1 down, some of the pots that he did were phenomenal, really. "He just got stronger and stronger. He overpowered Ding, who's not playing bad and has won a tournament this season.

"But look at this red. I mean, this was phenomenal. "To be hitting down on it, stun, run through, that's an unbelievable shot. That's shot of the season. JOIN SUN VEGAS: GET £50 BONUS. "Judd's the type of player, when he's confident, he feels like he can make any shot.

"So I just thought that was a 'wow' performance.". But it Murphy who beat Wilson 10-7 in last night's final to pocket £350,000 and a bonus £15,000 for achieving the highest break of the tournament. The Magician then channelled his Lionel Messi and Luke Littler by posing in bed with the trophy.
