The inauguration of Donald Trump is upon us as he returns to the White House as the president of the United States. Whereas modern Republicans have used ‘Hollywood elite’ as an insult for A-listers with more and more celebrities backing the Democrats, a vocal minority have used their platform to throw their support behind Trump.

There’s a reason that ‘Hollywood elite’ is an insult in the vernacular of modern Republicans: Over the past couple of decades more and more celebrities have endorsed Democratic candidates. During the November 2024 election, Kamala Harris counted on the backing of everyone from Barbara Streisand, Spike Lee, Mark Hamill, Jamie Lee Curtis, Cardi B and Charli XCX, to Lil Nas X, Kerry Washington, Mark Ruffalo, Taylor Swift, Beyonce, and Shonda Rhimes.

In contrast, Trump gathered a ragtag group of famous supporters, a mishmash of semi-famous faces and some very surprising names. Despite appearing to be a minority in Hollywood, they threw their support behind him, with some big names set to appear at his inauguration on Monday.

The rapper and actor, 53, was seen performing at the first ever ‘Crypto Ball’ hosted by former PayPal COO David Sacks. Silicon valley investor and millionaire Sacks is set to step into the White House in his formal capacity as AI and Crypto Czar (a real job title) for cryptocurrency-shilling President-to-be Trump.
