Strictly Come Dancing's Amy Dowden has spoken candidly about navigating an unconventional "throuple" while on tour with the BBC's live arena show. The 34-year-old dancer is entertaining audiences nationwide as part of the current Strictly lineup. In a lighthearted jab, Amy poked fun at being in a "throuple" with former dance partner JB Gill and her stand-in Lauren Oakley. Her Strictly journey was cut short last year due to a foot injury mere weeks after her return post-breast cancer treatment, prompting Lauren to step in as JB's partner.
Despite the setback, they reached the finals with Amy's wholehearted support. Now the three are hitting the road together as part of the Strictly Come Dancing Live! tour. In a Thursday Instagram post, Amy playfully referred to their setup as the "first ever tour throuple" and jokingly revealed JB's attempts to entice her into an on-stage dance-off, sharing a clip captioned: "POV you're in the first ever tour throuple and your partners are trying to convince you to dance with them on tour," reports Wales Online.
The snippet featured Amy and Lauren mimicking Wicked's Defying Gravity, as if trying to sway JB with "So if you care to find me...". On Tuesday, Amy took a moment to acknowledge World Cancer Day on social media, writing: "WORLD CANCER DAY. supporting those living with cancer, those supporting their loved one's affected by cancer, admiring the survivors, honoring those we have lost, and never, ever GIVING UP.".
Urging her followers to pay attention to their bodies, she added: "She also expressed immense gratitude for the support she received: "Forever grateful to the Drs, nurses, paramedics, NHS, researchers, volunteers, charities and to all those individuals who have helped and supported me!". Her story took a poignant turn as she recounted her diagnosis in 2023: "Since those words in 2023, 'sorry Amy it's cancer', my life will never be the same. But I'm So grateful to those above who saved me, made me stronger and even more determined! Welsh love to all those affected by cancer especially those finding today tough! #worldcancerday #mycancerjourney.".
Amy's heartfelt post touched her followers, prompting a flood of support in the comment section. An admirer said: "You are the most incredible woman! Forever in awe of you, love watching you back doing what you love.". Another person wrote: "You are such an inspiration and have shown amazing strength. I've had several friends that have been through cancer and my sister has just had removal of lump last week so just a waiting game now.".
