At the end of last year, Strictly Come Dancing viewers saw Vito Coppola and Sarah Hadland narrowly miss out on raising the Glitterball as Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell were crowned as the winners. However, fans of the show were excited to get the chance to see the duo take to the dancefloor once again on the Strictly tour.
Although the professional confessed he's being replaced by Nikita Kuzmin for the first few shows. Speaking to Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley on Mondays This Morning, Vito explained why he's taking a rest. Ben commented: "We hear there was a little injury? You're not necessarily starting the tour, you will be on tour, but you're not necessarily starting.".
Confirming this was true, Vito told the duo that Nikita would be dancing with Sarah in his place. He replied, "I've got a little injury. It's a dancer thing, you know. We're kind of used to this pain a little bit in the body!". Curious, Ben asked if it was a pain in his back after watching Vito place his hands there on the sofa. The Strictly star replied: "It's like a lower back pain at the moment.
"Of course, I can walk, I can sit and move but going to dance full on? Lifting and sharp twists of the body, it's better, at the moment, to have a little rest.". Vito remained hopeful he'd be able to dance with Sarah again when the tour heads to Sheffield at the end of January. He added, "Yeah, I'm going to do all the physio and all the assessments this week.".
