Australia is gearing up for a huge festival of rugby, with the World Cup set to head Down Under in 2027. The host cities for the men's Rugby World Cup have now also been confirmed with seven locations across the country selected to host matches. But it appears there may be one city that has missed out on hosting some of the tournament's biggest matches.

Surprisingly, Brisbane, the second biggest rugby union city in the country, will not host any games past the quarter-final stages. Instead, both semi-finals the final and the third-place play-off will be played in Sydney. Despite that, Brisbane will host multiple games, including six pool matches, two round-of-16 matches and two quarter-finals. The other quarter-finals will also be held in Sydney.

Melbourne is also set to host seven pool matches and two round-of-16 matches, while five pool matches will be played in Adelaide and four pool games will take place in both Newcastle and Townsville. World Rugby have revealed the locations for the 2027 Rugby World Cup with Sydney set to host the semi-finals and the finals.
