US superstars Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish are among the artists who have been snubbed at this year’s Grammy Awards. Swift had been nominated for six awards while Eilish had been up for seven – but both artists went home empty-handed from the ceremony held at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday. Cruel Summer singer Swift, who has previously won 14 Grammys, had been in contention for the prestigious song of the year and record of the year awards for her collaboration on Fortnight with Post Malone, but both gongs went to US rapper Kendrick Lamar for Not Like Us.

Eilish had been nominated in the categories for her melodic hit Birds Of A Feather with her brother Finneas O’Connell. Both artists had also been up for the album of the year award, with Eilish vying for the prize with her third album Hit Me Hard And Soft while Swift was nominated for her 11th record The Tortured Poets Department. The coveted award went to US superstar Beyonce for her chart-topping country album Cowboy Carter after she had previously failed to secure the prize on four occasions.

Nine-time Grammy winner Eilish missed out on two more gongs to US pop star Sabrina Carpenter in the best pop solo performance and best pop vocal album categories. Post Malone, who has been nominated for 18 Grammys in his career, was up for six awards this year but also failed to secure any on Sunday. The rapper had been nominated alongside Swift for Fortnight and he was also up for his collaboration with Morgan Wallen on I Had Some Help in best pop duo/group performance, which was won by Beyonce and Miley Cyrus for II Most Wanted, and best country song.

The 29-year-old was also nominated for best country album for F-1 Trillion and best pop duo/group performance for his collaboration with Beyonce on Levii’s Jeans. Elsewhere, British singer Raye missed out on the best new artist gong to US star Chappell Roan and songwriter of the year non-classical to Amy Allen, who has worked with Sabrina Carpenter and Olivia Rodrigo. Shaboozey was nominated for best country solo performance, song of the year and best country song for his track A Bar Song (Tipsy), following a breakout year for the Virginia-born artist, but was beaten to all three of the awards.

Kacey Musgraves took best country song for her track The Architect while best country solo performance was taken by Chris Stapleton for his song It Takes A Woman. The singer, whose real name is Collins Chibueze, was also nominated for best new artist and best melodic rap performance for his song with Beyonce and Linda Martell, Spaghettii, which was won by Rapsody featuring Erykah Badu for 3:AM. Veteran rapper Eminem, who returned with his first album in four years in 2024, was up for best rap album for The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup De Graace) and best rap performance for Houdini.
