The UK Christmas markets still open in January to extend your festive fun

Christmas markets, a cherished tradition across Europe and the UK, transform ordinary streets into magical winter wonderlands. With most people having completed their Christmas shopping and some even leaving town to spend the festive period with their families, many markets have already closed for the season.
However, a select few are keeping their doors open until January, allowing you to extend your festivities a bit longer with a glass of mulled wine or a cheese tasting, even after returning to work. These markets may also be less crowded post-Christmas.
So, without further ado, here are some UK Christmas markets that remain open until January. Hyde Park's popular Winter Wonderland is open until January 5, 2025, with plenty of tickets available in the days following Christmas. First opened in 2007 as a small funfair on the outskirts of Hyde Park, it has since grown into one of the UK's most popular festive attractions, drawing an estimated 2.5 million guests annually. From a Narnia-themed bar to ice skating and a Haunted Mansion ride, there's plenty to do.
Winter Wonderland is an ideal choice whether you're looking for fun with friends or a family day out. Edinburgh's Winterfest, another long-running festive market in the UK, opened on November 15 and will close on January 4. The city's East and West Princes Street Gardens, George Street, and St Andrew Square are all home to the market, which offers a variety of activities, including fairground rides, community events, and a frosty ice bar.
