TOTTENHAM are set to sign Irish wonderkid Mason Melia. A deal worth £1.6million plus add-ons has been agreed with St Patrick’s Athletic for the young striker. Though due to Brexit rules, the 17-year-old cannot join the club until the first window after his 18th birthday. It means he will officially join Spurs on January 1, 2026. Melia is regarded as one of the most exciting youngsters to come out of Ireland for some time.
Celtic were particularly keen on him. Meanwhile Everton, Club Brugge and Eintracht Frankfurt are among the clubs to have shown recent interest in the striker. But Melia is understood to have always had his heart set on Spurs. The move will make him the first million-pound player to come out of the League of Ireland Premier Division. The youngster netted six goals in 31 league appearances in 2024 for St Patrick's.
