Tottenham have had a significant bid for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi rejected by their London rivals. Spurs are in the market for another centre-back after landing Kevin Danso in a £20.9million deal with Lens, but Palace are reluctant to sell Guehi before Monday’s transfer deadline. The England international, 24, is, though, expected to leave Selhurst Park in the summer, when he will have just a year remaining on his deal, with Spurs expected to be among a host of interested clubs at the end of the season.
Ange Postecoglou, the Spurs head coach, said on Sunday that his squad remains "a little bit short" defensively, with Radu Dragusin expected to be out for an extended period with a knee injury suffered against Elfsborg in the Europa League on Thursday. Dragusin will see a specialist on Monday but is expected to miss most of the rest of the campaign, increasing Spurs' need for reinforcements at the back.
