Candace Parker may have risked angering Caitlin Clark fans by hailing Chelsea Gray as the best point guard in women's hoops. The three-time WNBA champion took part in the inaugural season of the Unrivaled 3-on-3 basketball league and broke down the players when she talked about her former teammate and current Las Vegas Aces star.
Gray and Parker played together on the Los Angeles Sparks where they secured the WNBA title in 2016. Given their history, the basketball legend knows Gray's standing as one of the best floor generals in WNBA history. While foreshadowing the impact Gray would have on Rose Basketball Club, Parker hailed the Aces star the 'best point guard in the world,' more than once.
Although the comment is not a hot take to proper basketball fans, others reacted poorly on social media, claiming the title belongs to Clark. 'Candace Parker probably just p***** off an entire fanbase before we tipped off,' a fan suggested along with three crying emojis.
Candace Parker had Caitlin Clark fans mad after hailing Chelsea Gray the best point guard. Clark inspired the massive spike in the WNBA's viewership and attendance numbers. Parker and Gray won a WNBA title together in 2016 before Gray won two more with the Aces.
Another Clark fan page referred to Parker as a clown in the comments. Meanwhile, others came to Parker's defense and echoed her sentiments about Gray. 'Lol damn she cant be biased for her own pg without the ccclan losing their minds?' wrote one user. 'Yeah, but when you're right you're right,' added another.
