The Super Bowl game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs is set to take place on Sunday. Even though millions of sports enthusiasts are undoubtedly excited for the upcoming match, others would rather watch the halftime performance. We can’t blame them as the halftime shows have given viewers some incredible moments over the years, including Justin Timberlake accidentally ripping Janet Jackson’s top open on stage, and Destiny’s Child reuniting for a brief moment in 2013.

So, who will be performing at the Super Bowl half-time show this year?. Grammy-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar will be the main attraction at this year's halftime show. He will be joined by R&B singer SZA, who has been a long-time collaborator. The rapper said in a statement: “Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date. And I'll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one.”. The national anthem will be performed by Grammy-winning singer and New Orleans native Jon Batiste prior to the game, while America the Beautiful will be performed by Lauren Daigle and Trombone Shorty.

There is no evidence to suggest Swift will be joining but the pair have collaborated in the past on the 2014 remix of Swift’s Bad Blood. The Super Bowl has a tradition of surprise guest appearances, so it will be interesting to see who joins Lamar. Lamar hasn’t confirmed the songs for his Super Bowl halftime show as of yet. But the 37-year-old is anticipated to play his hits Humble, Not Like Us and Swimming Pools (Drank), which he has played at most recent concerts.

R&B artist Usher was the headliner of last year’s half-time show, with help from will.i.am, Alicia Keys and Ludacris, as well as many props. At the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Usher took the stage wearing an all-white outfit and was greeted by a throng of vivacious dancers. He immediately began with one of his most well-known songs, Caught Up. It began a lively performance that capitalised on the 46-year-old's considerable back catalogue and dancing prowess.

When Usher was well into his groove and a few songs in, his first guest, Alicia Keys, came out behind a bright-red piano, dressed in a similar glittery red attire. She started off with one of her own biggest singles, If I Ain't Got You. After that, the two performed their duet My Boo together, as they joyfully re-enacted their 2004 hit. The singer later reappeared with roller skates and a glittering black-and-blue ensemble, introducing willi.i.am to sing their collaboration OMG.
