It's the time of year when immune systems are down and common colds are at an all-time high - but you may want to think twice before reaching for an Emergen-C. According to TikTok user Meghan Elinor, the vitamin C mix may not be the best option to boost your immune system - as they contain a lot of sugar.
'Can somebody please tell me why anybody nowadays would still recommend taking vitamin C immune packets that have, supposedly, a thousand milligrams of vitamin C in them?' she began the video. 'Like, there are actual doctors who are recommending this … OK?' she questioned.
'If you turn around and read the ingredients, did you notice there's six times the amount of sugar in each one of these packets, compared to the amount of vitamin C,' the content creator continued. 'The vast majority of the type of vitamin C that’s in here is actually not going to be absorbed by your body or utilized appropriately,' she said indignantly.
'You’re literally just gonna p**s it out.'. The content creator went on to slam 'quick fixes.'. According to TikTok user Meghan Elinor, the vitamin C mix may not be the best idea - as they contain a lot of sugar. 'They say that every single person should be taking this every single day to boost their immunity, rather than actually eating healthy, and exercising, and allowing your body to do what it's meant to do,' she ranted.
