Years before taking home a silver and bronze medal at the 2025 X Games, rising star Mia Brookes landed the first ever women's CAB 1440 double grab in competition on her first attempt. 'I'd never tried it before,' she revealed to the DailyMail.com at Aspen, Colorado, over the weekend.
Calling the trick she pulled off in February 2023 'really, really hard', the Monster Energy athlete said 'it was definitely a scary one to do, but obviously landed it. 'Now, it's in my bag of tricks.'. But what seemed fated to be didn't appear that way until midway through the trick, Brookes, 18, said.
'I think all the way through I was kind of like, "Oh, I'm not sure. I don't really know.". 'But I think maybe on the last spin, I could see the ground a little bit better. I was like, "I think I've got this.". And the rest was history. British snowboarder Mia Brookes (pictured) took home a silver and bronze medal at the 2025 X Games.
The Monster Energy athlete, 18, is all smiles after coming in second place for the SBD Knuckle Huck event at the 2025 X Games. Brookes also placed third for the SBD Slopestyle. While Brookes was in full celebration mode for coming in third at the SBD Slopestyle and second at the SBD Knuckle Huck for this year's X Games, she didn't have time to ring in another milestone: her 18th birthday.
