A mother has told of her shock horror after finding her mischievous toddler had undertaken a surprise interior design project in their home - using her black eyeliner. Jackline Mwende, 42, had fallen asleep when her two-year-old son, Thabani Canessius, napped in his cot. But the mother-of-two woke up to find that Thabani had reached out of his cot, got hold of her eyeliner from her make-up bag and started doodling on the white wardrobe.

Not only did Thabani use the black kohl pencil to cover the wardrobe in scribbles, the little boy also drew on himself, using the entire eyeliner. Jackline, a stay-at-home-mother, from Bristol, said: 'He really went on a mission. 'We had to wash his mouth, hands, face.... even scrub his tongue!'. Jackline had dozed off at around 4pm  after suffering with a migraine. She woke up an hour later to 'dark colour absolutely everywhere'.

Thabani Canessius (pictured) took his mother's eyeliner while she was sleeping and doodled all over their white wardrobes. The two-year-old even drew on himself and his cot - and he couldn't help but giggle at the mess he had made. The playful toddler held his hands up revealing his eyeliner-covered fingertips. She said: 'I saw dark writing on the wall, and my initial reaction was shock-horror'. 'I switched the light on... and I was mortified.'.

Luckily both Jackline and Thabani's dad, Goodwill Canessius, were light-hearted about the episode, finding it hilarious. Still, the pair were focused on cleaning the mess up. Jackline tried vinegar and lemon juice to remove the make-up and had to use bleach to render the wardrobe white again. But the playful toddler, who held his hands up and giggled about the mess he had made, was apologetic, promising his mother that he 'wont do it again'.

Jackline said: 'He's done loads of hilarious things which I haven't caught on camera, but my initial reaction was "please Thabani, please tell me you haven't." I almost thought I was dreaming!'. Thabani's antics may be amusingly shocking but he's far from the only little boy who has unknowingly made his mother wince by taking matters into his own hands. In December of last year, a mother revealed her shock after discovering her toddler had covered her sofa in skin cream.

Mpho Rambuwani, 30, couldn't believe her eyes when she saw what her son, Murisa, then two, had been up to while her back was turned. Mischievous Murisa had squirted an entire tube of eczema cream all over the leather sofa.

As she walked in, the tot was caught red-handed covered in the cream - and continued shamelessly rubbing it into the sofa despite Mpho's protests. Mpho, from Johannesburg, South Africa, said the sofa was pretty much brand new - and she spent hours scraping it off to try and save it. She said: 'I found Murisa with the cream lathered all over the couch. 'I wasn't even gone five minutes and that was what I came down to!.

'I was furious - you could see the guilty look on his face. 'He was so shocked I had caught him - he didn't know what to do. Cutie Thabani amused his parents with his cheeky antics - though they were the ones who had to clean up the mess. 'I did manage to save the sofa but it took me so long.'. Mpho said the incident, which happened in November 2022, didn't permanently damage the sofa. And it's still the couch they use today, two years on.
