Veteran actor Al Pacino was so horror-struck by an offbeat nickname given to him on a movie set that he decided to switch to veganism (very briefly, that is). The Hollywood legend, famed for his roles in iconic films such as The Godfather series and Scarface, was given the nickname while working The Local Stigmatic in the 1990s. It is believed the nickname came as Pacino developed an insatiable craving for chicken.

Cast and crew noticed his non-stop consumption of poultry products, which earned him a comical, yet distressing moniker from his colleagues – "Al Pa-chicken". The fact has gone viral after a social media user shared a snippet from iMDB's trivia section about Pacino's peculiar pet name.

It reads: "Pacino reportedly ate so much chicken between takes that he earned the nickname Al Pa-chicken amongst the crew.". The aftermath of this revelation was equally surprising, as he added: "Once filming wrapped, he was so horrified by his poultry intake during the shoot that he became vegan for 17 and a half hours and donated his fee to a chicken sanctuary in Aberdeen, Scotland.".

Online users are now buzzing about the idea of a biographical film based on this unusual phase of Pacino's life, with one quipping: "They need to make a movie called '17 and a half hours' that charts the Al Pacino vegan period in full.". One person sarcastically remarked about his brief stint with veganism, commenting: "'Became vegan for seventeen and a half hours' you mean he had a salad for lunch the next day.".
