Women aren't just judging dating profiles and men's outfits - they're also just as judgmental when it comes to their home decor. According to data from design simulation game Redecor, many women get the dreaded 'ick' if men have specific home decor issues, and some can even be a dealbreaker.

The popular app conducted a survey in January 2025 and received almost 7,000 responses with women airing their dating decor gripes. According to the statistics, 43 percent of women would not date someone who didn't have a bed frame. Some young men have given up on bed frames entirely and simply place their mattresses on the floor.

Even Timothee Chalamet once admitted his Dune co-star Zendaya had to help him buy a bed frame, saying the 'vibe' of his home 'was very teenage boy.'. Not having a bed frame has been labeled a red flag by singles in the past. It's not just about having the perfect bed frame (or one at all).

Some will simply leave a date if it's not up to their sanitation standards. Redecor found that 80 percent of women will walk out of a smelly apartment. Another major turn-off for 70 percent of women is if a man has left dirty dishes in his sink, especially if it's a small apartment.

It's also best to clean up facial hair in the bathroom after a shave, as 65 percent of women said it was a hard pass. Dirty clothes or towels lying around can also be a no go for 65 percent. Nearly half of women (44 percent) say owning dead plants is a definite ick.

However, plenty of ladies give their dates points if they do have a well maintained home that isn't filthy. One major turn-off for 70 per cent of women is if a man has left dirty dishes in their sink (stock photo). According to the survey, 81 percent of women appreciate a well-maintained bathroom, while 80 percent are fans of a clean kitchen.

It can also help to add a well-stocked bookshelf, as 47 percent of women call having one impressive. Another major issue is seeing signs of the ex around the house, whether it's gifts or leftover home decor from when they lived together. A whopping 42 percent of women say no to any aesthetic signs of a former significant other.
