Judge Amanda Holden has opened up on some of the dangerous stunts to come on the latest series of Britain's Got Talent. The popular ITV show will be back for its 18th series on Saturday February 22, and if Amanda's words are anything to go by, fans are in for some tense watching. Amanda will take to the judging panel alongside regular hosts Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli. This year will also see the debut of guest judge, YouTuber KSI, who stepped in for Bruno during parts of the auditions.

The new series if the ITV talent show is set to air later this month as the popular ITV talent show has announced its launch date for the 18th series of the programme, which will return to our screens on Saturday February 22. The first episode will air at 7pm on ITV1, STV and ITVX, the broadcaster has confirmed. Teasing the new series to the Daily Mail, Amanda said: "BGT is the gift that keeps on giving. We have some extraordinary talent from Japan and Korea as well as eccentric, fabulous, quintessentially British contestants." Amanda also says fans will see more of Simon's old "Mr Nasty side," which she enjoys as she doesn't want to see him "become too soft.".

Having been a judge on the show since 2007, Simon has seen his fair share of slip ups. But there's one moment this season where the father of one had an extremely close call, involving someone doing "something very dangerous with fruit" near him. "I know there’s health and safety on our show, but it was precarious; the stage was slippery. Simon could have got his head smashed in," Amanda, who found it "difficult to watch," told the publication.

Alongside the regular judges, Ant and Dec will be back as the show's hosts. At the end of last year, the programme's audition process faced delays following the tragic death of former One Direction star Liam Payne. The show confirmed they postponed the auditions following his death. Fremantle UK - Britain's Got Talent's production company - confirmed the cancellation to the Mirror at the time, with a spokesperson saying: "Due to the tragic passing of Liam Payne, we have decided to postpone the Britain’s Got Talent auditions. Our thoughts are with Liam’s friends, family and all who loved him.".

Last year's final saw singer Sydnie Christmas take home the crown after wowing the judges and audience with her rendition of Somewhere Over the Rainbow. Alongside her win, the star took home £250,000 as well as gaining herself a spot at the Royal Variety Performance. Like this story?
