January is always a hard act to follow in the TV world, but Amazon Prime Video is doing a pretty damn good job of continuing the good work with their latest offerings. While we patiently wait for darker nights to come to an end, they’ve got plenty of much-hyped shows arriving imminently. From a new reality show created by the same team as Married At First Sight or Reacher and The Wheel of Time making it a hat-trick with their third seasons, they’ve got it all.

As an extra special treat, the streaming platform is also releasing a gripping new thriller that stars one of Britain’s best talents, Martin Compston. So without further ado, here are the seven Prime shows worth a binge watch…. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video. Up Next. First hitting screens in 2022, the action crime drama is based on the Jack Reacher book series by Lee Child.

It stars Alan Ritchson as the titular character, a self-proclaimed hobo and former U.S. Army military policeman who possesses ‘formidable strength, intellect, and abilities’ and comes up against dangerous criminals. The third series is finally arriving after over a year without any new episodes. This time, Reacher has been enlisted as an undercover informant to help investigate the dodgy owner of a rug import business. We don’t think he’ll be pulling the rug under Reacher’s feet!.

Reacher fans have already declared the upcoming season will be the best to date after watching the trailer. February 20. Line of Duty favourite Martin has changed out of his police officer uniform and teamed up with Anjli Mohindra for a new psychological thriller. The actors play Martyn and Rebecca, who move their young family from London to Glasgow. Initially their new life seems perfectly idyllic but after some suss comments from their new neighbour Jan (Solly McLeod), things quickly unravel.

Facing accusations that are every parent’s worst nightmare, and with the authorities refusing to step in, Martyn and Rebecca may be forced to help themselves. March 4. The last season of The Wheel of Time was given an impressive four stars by Metro and was described as ‘a stellar example of fantasy at its most spectacular.’. Based on the best-selling Robert Jordan fantasy series The Wheel of Time, the series centres on humble farm boy, Rand al’Thor (Josha Stradowski), as he learns is The Dragon Reborn – a dangerous figure from history destined to save the world or break it. Now the Last Battle approaches.

At the end of Season Two, Rand defeated Ishamael and he’s now reuniting with his friends at Falme. However, things don’t stay peaceful for long. ‘The threats against the Light are multiplying: the White Tower stands divided, the Black Ajah run free, old enemies return to the Two Rivers, and the remaining Forsaken are in hot pursuit of the Dragon… including Lanfear, whose relationship with Rand will mark a crucial choice between Light and Dark for them both,’ the synopsis teases.

‘As the ties to his past begin to unravel, and his corrupted power grows stronger, Rand becomes increasingly unrecognisable to his closest allies, Moiraine (Rosamund Pike) and Egwene (Madeleine Madden). These powerful women, who started the series as teacher and student, must now work together to prevent the Dragon from turning to the Dark…no matter the cost.’. We love to see a fantasy series that makes women more powerful than men too – makes a nice change!.

March 13. The masterminds behind two of our favourite dating shows Love Is Blind and Married At First Sight, have birthed a new reality TV baby, Sweethearts. Things are a little different this time, instead of matchmaking singletons, instead, they are following existing couples. Their subjects are six teenage couples in Charleston, South Carolina. Each are navigating their final summer together in high school, hitting milestones of prom, spring break, and graduation, before heading off to different colleges.

At the end of the series, each couple decides whether they will continue in their relationship or breakup. February 13. Another reality show, and this time it’s more Geordie Shore, rather than lovey-dovey. Taking place between Rio de Janeiro and Salvador ‘the sexy, explosive and unpredictable cast of big personalities’ will work and party hard at the street parades and at exclusive VIP events. You’re going to need your subtitles on if you don’t speak Portuguese but if anything this week’s taught us it’s that we shouldn’t discount a reality show just because we don’t speak the same language as the cast.

February 14. As the name suggests this series is all about a man called David. The upcoming TV show tells the story of the ascent of the biblical figure as he becomes the most renowned and celebrated king of Israel. ‘The series follows the once-mighty King Saul as he falls victim to his own pride. At the direction of God, the prophet Samuel anoints an unlikely, outcast teenager as the new king,’ the synopsis explains.
