A US travel vlogger has opened up about the five things he hates about England. Mark Wolters, a globetrotting vlogger who runs the popular Wolters World YouTube channel, recently shared his thoughts about the country, both positive and negative. In a video titled 'The Love and HATES of Visiting England', Mark detailed his love for everything from English villages and accommodation to pubs and the British people.

However, he also detailed how, like most countries, England is not without its drawbacks and listed five specific things people need to be aware of when visiting. Mark said: "Now, the thing is, you come in the summertime, you'll probably get sunburn. They have sun in the summer; not a big deal, but the problem is, if you come like in the fall or the winter or in May, you're going to get wet.". He went on to say that it's "normal" and "okay" but people should remember to bring an umbrella and dress appropriately. However, he also pointed out that the weather is why England is so "green" and "beautiful".

Mark explained that when you stay in English hotels and enjoy meals out, you begin to notice that it's a "little bit" more expensive, even more so when you take trains and compare public transport to other parts of Europe. However, he pointed out that one of the best ways to keep a handle on your outgoings is to "don't just stay in London", and explore the country more. Although Mark sang the praises of the British pub culture, he also pointed out that if you're in the bigger cities on a Friday or Saturday night, people may encounter those who've had a "few too many".

He advised people to "pay attention" because, despite England being a safe place generally, in the cities, you need to be more aware of pickpockets and a "little rowdiness". Mark highlighted the difference between the UK and the US when it comes to crossing the road. In the UK, you look to your right first when crossing, but it's the opposite in America because they drive on the other side of the road.

He cautioned people to be aware of this to avoid getting injured, recounting how he himself saw two people being killed on the road in London after being hit by a truck. Mark said to "properly explore" England, travellers should get a car, although he conceded you can travel to many places using public transport. However, he explained that it can be unnerving when travellers first leave the airport in their cars and encounter the motorways and their first roundabout, describing the latter as a "scary moment".
