Andrew Garfield, 41, ‘quiety’ dating Bob Dylan biopic star Monica Barbaro, 34

Hollywood star Andrew Garfield is said to have a new leading lady in his personal life, with rumours swirling he’s dating Monica Barbaro. The We Live in Time star, 41, has been growing close to the A Complete Unknown actress, 34, away from the prying eyes of the public, according to reports.

It comes after they first interacted publicly on January 4 when they posed for photos at W Magazine’s annual Best Performances party in Los Angeles. They were then seen attending a performance of Jonathan Bailey’s Richard II at the Bridge Theatre in London.

Andrew and Monica were filmed just two days ago sitting in the audience, dressed casually in baseball caps, seemingly in an attempt to go incognito. However, fans began sharing the clip on social media, with Instagram user murderesselinny excitedly writing in a caption: ‘Im not normal , being happy about this as much as i am is so weird’.

Clearly comfortable in one another’s company, the actors chatted casually before the show began. A source has since told People: ‘They’ve been really lowkey and have been spending time together quietly.’. Prior to his rumoured romance with Monica, Andrew dated Dr Kate Tomas, who describes herself as a ‘philosopher and spiritual mentor’.

The Amazing Spider-Man star and the ‘professional witch’ were first linked last March when they were pictured on a double date with singer Phoebe Bridgers and comedian Bo Burnham in Malibu, California. However, in October, Dr Kate confirmed they were no longer an item.

A fan wrote to her on Instagram: ‘[Are you] still dating Andrew Garfield? … Tell him I’m a fan of him, please.’. She replied: ‘We broke up months ago but I’m sure he will be happy to know that he is loved.’. Andrew began seeing Dr Kate after he split from model Alyssa Miller in 2022, having dated for several months.

He also famously dated his co-star, Emma Stone, in the 2010s, but now tends to keep his love life away from the spotlight. ‘I have never, and I won’t ever, speak about or confirm or deny anything about my personal life with anyone, ever,’ he told Esquire last year.

Although, fans have long championed a relationship between him and Chicken Shop Date host Amelia Dimoldenberg after a series of very flirty exchanges on red carpets. As for Monica, the actress played Joan Baez in the recent Bob Dylan biopic, starring opposite Timothee Chalamet as the music icon.

Her other roles include 2022’s Top Gun: Maverick, in which she played Navy pilot Lt. Natasha ‘Phoenix’ Trace. She previously dated film producer and writer Connor Tillman, a romance that allegedly began in 2014. Reps for Andrew Garfield and Monica Barbaro have been contacted for comment.
