Electric drying racks have become a popular solution to expensive tumble-dryer bills and for drying clothes faster during the wet months when traditional clotheslines aren't feasible. But are they really worth buying?. While some have pointed out that they are cheaper to run than other appliances and others note they can be less effective depending on the make and model, laundry expert Matthew Harrison has shared his expertise on whether investing in a heated drying rack is worth it and what the pros and cons of owning one are.

A heated airer is an appliance most commonly used to dry laundry indoors, so it can come in particularly handy during the cold winter months. They usually resemble an average drying rack but work more efficiently by heating the bars, ensuring that your clothes dry faster. You can also invest in models that have a tent-like cover that traps heat to dry clothes that much faster.
