He fired through 26 winners to obliterate the Aussie player, who has won four times on the ATP Tour. But Tomic will still pocket a big check of $35,000, as part of the prize funds for appearing in the opening round of qualifying. It also means that he will now miss the Australian Open for the fourth consecutive year. He had previously tried to qualify for the event in 2022, again being knocked outint the first round.
