Charlie Dimmock has opened up about her 'love-hate' relationship with her TV career in a rare interview - as The Masked Singer fans are convinced she's signed up for the show. The TV presenter, 58, first made her television debut on Ground Force in 1997, a BBC gardening makeover programme which aired from 1997 until 2005.

She appeared on the BBC gardening series alongside broadcaster Alan Titchmarsh, 75, and Tommy Walsh, 68, before landing her own self-titled garden show in the noughties. Even though the show was axed after one series, the 58-year-old is still on screens today with her BBC One series Garden Rescue.

However, despite paving out a long-lasting career in television, Charlie has admitted she has a 'love-hate' relationship with the industry. Reuniting with her former co-star Alan, he explained how Charlie thought her fame would be a 'transitory' period of her life but it turned out to be further than the truth after almost three decades on air.

It is what it is and you've got to carry on.'.

She added: 'I do love it but I hate it at the same time.' Alan replied: 'Because it gets in the way of life?'. Charlie followed up with: 'It gets in the way of different things and stuff like that.'. When the cameras aren't rolling, Charlie also said she spends her time 'just like everybody else' with friends and family.
