This is the moment a criminology student 'scopes out' a beach days before allegedly stabbing a mum to death in a random attack. Nasen Saadi, 20, is alleged to have "butchered" Amie Gray and her friend Leanne Miles at Durley Chine Beach in Bournemouth. The student is standing trial at Winchester Crown Court charged with murder and attempted murder.

Jurors have been shown footage of him arriving in the seaside town in May earlier this year, before walking up and down the beach. Sarah Jones KC, prosecuting, told the court Saadi walked at night along the promenade to Durley Chine for a “recce” of the area.

The jury was also shown CCTV footage allegedly showing the defendant at a Waitrose store in Croydon on May 20, where he made a purchase and took out some money from a cashpoint. He was also shown on footage the following day going to Clapham Junction station, where he boarded a train to Bournemouth.

He is then seen leaving the station and getting into a taxi which takes him to a Travelodge hotel. Saadi is then seen going to a Five Guys restaurant the same evening. On the day of the attack, May 24, the defendant is allegedly shown buying wet wipes and nail clippers at a Superdrug store.

The court has heard Amie suffered 10 stab wounds after she was attacked at random on the beach. She screamed "get off me" and Leanne begged "stop, I've got children" as they were stabbed. They had been been chatting next to a fire to keep warm when they were allegedly targeted at random by Saadi.
