TV presenter Holly Willoughby has been accused of "ruining" Dancing On Ice for fans. Love Island star Chris Taylor became the latest star to be eliminated from the ITV series on over the weekend after going head-to-head in a dance-off against former footballer Anton Ferdinand. The two celebrities had to perform their routines again on Sunday after they received the lowest score when the public vote was added to the judges’ marks. Chris' fate was sealed and Holly and her co-host Stephen Mulhern announced the results live on Sunday night' show.

Moments after the latest instalment of the skating competition wrapped, Holly took to Instagram to share a snap of herself backstage in the stunning gold dress she hosted the live show in. "Night all… thank you for watching @dancingonice," Holly began in the caption. She continued: "Sad to see @christophertaylorofficial leave, those skate off’s are brutal… so happy for @anton_ferdinand5 though… See you next week for 80’s week." While many of Holly's followers rushed to wish the mum-of-three a happy birthday for Monday, or gush over her dress, others were fuming with the TV presenter.

"SPOILER ALERT," penned one Instagram user underneath Holly's post. Another Dancing On Ice fan that seemingly planned to watch the show via ITVX's catch-up services added: "I was about to watch it on catch-up lol, spoiler alert x.". During the skate off on Sunday night, Chris reprised his graceful performance to Golden Hour by JVKE with his skating partner Robin Johnstone, which had been awarded a score of 32 earlier in the night. The reality star’s original skating partner Vanessa Bauer had previously been forced to withdraw from the rest of the series last week after tearing ligaments in "an accident" backstage, meaning this was the second show Chris had performed with Robin.

Judge Jayne Torvill previously said she loved the "quality of the skating" and complimented his pivot, while Christopher Dean said the sign of a good skater was how quiet they are on the ice and he said Chris was "silent". Meanwhile, Anton Ferdinand performed his energetic routine to Livin’ La Vida Loca by Ricky Martin with his partner Annette Dytrt again, which picked up a score of 34 the first time around from the judges.

Following the skate-off, judges Ashley Banjo, Oti Mabuse, Dean and Torvill all voted to save Anton and Annette, sending Chris and Robin home. Following the announcement, host Holly told the reality TV star: You’ve been brilliant, and I feel like you’ve loved this even though this partnership hasn’t been long, it’s been enjoyable." Chris agreed it was a "brief encounter" but jokingly quipped that he is "used to that".
