Viewers of Dancing On Ice were left calling out a decision by the ITV series, with hosts Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern soon addressing the backlash. In the aftermath of a star suddenly quitting the show, it was announced that for the second week in a row there would be no bottom two. Holly confirmed there wouldn't be a skate-off, and soon her co-host Stephen was laughing - as Holly then issued a warning to fans amid them fuming.

It's then that Stephen referenced the reaction of annoyed viewers online over the twist, with Holly issuing a plea to fans. Just hours before the live show on Sunday night, it was announced that comedian Josh Jones would no longer be taking part. He and his pro skating partner Tippy Packard were forced to withdraw from the competition just weeks in, after Josh sustained a bad injury in rehearsals. Just a week after Chelsee Healey left the show in the first public vote, without their being a skate-off, Josh's departure was announced ahead of the second elimination.

In a surprising move, the show decided they would go ahead with the next vote-off with hosts Holly and Stephen confirming another star would be eliminated on Sunday. Amid calls from viewers for axed Chelsee to be brought back to replace Josh, fans then learned that once again there would be no skate-off in a major twist.
