That was certainly the case for Gordon Ramsay and Cristiano Ronaldo and their families yesterday. David Beckham, meanwhile, kept it simple in a T-shirt and pyjama trousers, but added a Santa hat.

Sharing a video online on Christmas Eve, fashion designer Mrs Beckham, 50, joked of her husband: ‘I’m glad you learned something from Tom Cruise, he’s making me my favourite sake cocktail, I love that. I love you.’.
