EastEnders confirms legend is missing as the Vic fire worsens

With the Queen Vic in flames, EastEnders has confirmed a number of big names in danger of death – with one of the soap’s legends feared dead as Martin Fowler (James Bye) tries desperately to find Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner). Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) had thrown Ian (Adam Woodyatt) into the path of Reiss Colwell’s (Jonny Freeman) car, causing him to swerve and smash into the Vic. When flames from the accident caught gas canisters from the Vic’s cellar, the whole place erupted in a massive explosion while the wedding party was ongoing inside.

In the wake of this horrific turn of events, an hour long edition of the soap sees a rescue effort led by Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) and George Knight (Colin Salmon). There are a fair few locals caught up in the devastation and it’s clear that not everyone is going to survive. How could they in a blast like that!?. Up Next. As Martin finds his way to Lily (Lillia Turner), he helps free her but his fears turn towards Stacey. But what of Ruby Allen (Louisa Lytton)?. Newlyweds Billy and Honey Mitchell (Perry Fenwick and Emma Barton) cling to each other tightly surrounded by flames and destruction. Fearing their wedding could become a funeral, is their new life together in tatters already?. Meanwhile, Suki (Balvinder Sopal) tries to help Avani, Denzel and Nugget find an escape but the Vic is threatening to collapse at any moment.

The Slaters – including Jean and Freddie (Gillian Wright and Bobby Brazier) – are dazed and then in a panic. It’s over to Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) to try and keep things calm but with escape routes hard to come by, injuries, a collapsing structure and an imminent threat of death, there is no wonder that fear takes hold. But it remains to be seen who will live and who will die. Outside, Cindy is responsible for the carnage but will she be able to show remorse and will Ian and Kathy be able to use it to bring her down?.

And just where is killer Reiss? He has disappeared from the crash scene – does this place Sonia (Natalie Cassidy) in danger?. EastEnders continues on Wednesday February 19 at 7:30pm on BBC One.
