ITV's Emmerdale fans were left in tears on Thursday night's episode, as Amy Wyatt died after the devastating limo crash. After falling through the icy lake, Amy was rushed to hospital and was suffering from severe hypothermia. However, just before her final breath, Amy regained consciousness and had found the strength to tell husband Matty Barton about the body she saw in the lake. As appeared to try and tell him: "Nate, under the water," Matty, who couldn't understand responded with: "I know you were darling, but you're safe now.".

As she appeared to flatline the doctors raced in but were unable to save her, with her unable to reveal she'd seen the body under the lake. After the tragic scenes aired, Natalie appeared on Lorraine to speak about her sad exit - and of course, that body in the lake. Speaking to Christine Lampard, stepping in for Lorraine, Natalie opened up on the reveal of Amy's hand being trapped under the ice, which had been teased for weeks. "It was so funny knowing that it was me all along, people kept asking me, thinking it was a man," she laughed.

Christine then revealed that Amy "would be taking the terrible secret to her grave," continuing: "We don't know who it belongs to at this point.". Responding, a hesitant Natalie said: "Erm, I think last night, Amy tried to tell Matty, but nobody in the village knows who it belongs to because, as Amy was trying to tell Matty, it was kind of a final words, and she used them up to say, I love you." Could her hesitant response mean the secret won't be taken to her grave after all? Will Matty remember what she said? Some fans think so.

Taking to Twitter, formely known as X, one fan penned: "Hopefully Matty remembers what Amy was saying to him," while another echoed: "I hope Matty remembers she was saying Nate and will wonder why…". Opening up on her departure from the show after playing the role of Amy since 2019, Natalie said: "It's such a special place to work. Although I'll see the cast all the time outside of work, not getting to work with them in that way anymore is so sad.

"When we were doing those final scenes when Kerry and Matty were saying goodbye to Amy, I was just an emotional wreck!". Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.* Follow Mirror Celebs and TV on TikTok , Snapchat , Instagram , Twitter , Facebook , YouTube and Threads .
