ERLING HAALAND has not been included in Manchester City's squad to face Liverpool. The striker is the club's top scorer this season with 27 goals in 35 games across all competitions this season. However, Pep Guardiola has been sweating over the fitness of his talisman since he fell to the floor awkwardly holding his knee following an awkward landing against Newcastle last week.

The 24-year-old was named on the bench for City's mid-week 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League play-offs, but failed to make it on to the pitch. Guardiola confirmed to reporters in his Friday press conference that a decision was yet to be made about his participation against the league leaders.
The Spaniard had said: "I don't know yet. Tomorrow [Saturday] we will know.". But it has now been confirmed that Haaland will miss today's Etihad clash after he was missing from the Cityzens matchday squad. It is the first time he has not been named in a squad since the fourth round of the FA Cup against Leyton Orient earlier this month, and the first time it has happened in a league game since April 2024.
