Many people are still missing a vital step when it comes to their tresses, and it's impacting their hair care journey. Of course, you shampoo and condition your hair, and you may even use a hydrating hair mask from time to time, but honestly, when was the last time you used oils on your hair?. It's all over social media, and experts are always recommending it and sharing the benefits, but have you tried it for yourself?.

Natasha Bowles, 28, is a spa manager at the Manchester Marriott Picadilly, and she exclusively told The Mirror that oiling your hair is necessary if you want to see significant growth, and not only that - it's important if you want your hair to be in the best condition it possibly can be. "It's really really good for you to use oils in the hair because that's going to really stimulate hair growth," Natasha said. She explained the oils will be able to "penetrate" and help with "dryness and an irritated scalp", so they can be really beneficial.

And there's something you may not know about hair oils, and that's that you can "leave it on" for a while before showering or bathing. Natasha said: "You can leave it in while you're chasing after the kids, doing household things, and if you're doing that before a shampoo, it'll stimulate the hair follicles as well. "You can even massage it in and relieve some tension headaches and migraines, and if you can, you can bring it down into the shoulders as well, and that's going to really help you relax before you go to bed at night," so it's a win-win situation.

And it doesn't have to be an expensive oil you're using. "You can definitely use coconut oil, or you can use almond oil, which you can pick up more or less anywhere," she said. If you are looking to splurge on something more decadent for yourself, however, you could try the frangipani hair oil and nail oil from Elemis, which Natasha said is her "favourite". Hair oil can be used in different ways depending on the type:.
