So much of make-up now is about that sense of things not being overdone. Brown mascara is perfect as an update, especially if you like brown eyeshadow, as it’ll blend in really nicely and feel lighter, less laboured. You don’t need to compensate with another feature, just lean into it being less defined and obvious.

There are two places which are now much more about softness than before — contour and cheek colour. With contour, focus on adding dimension and enhancing shape rather than making things look really angular, which feels dated now. Bright intense blush also looks passé, with colours that look a little more pared back working really well. I love the Jones Road bronzers.
