It’s no secret that leopard print has been having a real fashion moment of late, dominating in 2024 and into 2025. But as a fashion writer, it’s my job to keep an eye on the ever-changing trends, and I’ve noticed another animal print making its way into the high street and our wardrobes and it could just be about to slither into the top spot. Scouring retailers like River Island , Marks and Spencer and Nobody’s Child , it’s safe to say that the high street is teeming with snakeskin-inspired designs. From accessories and shoes to statement outerwear, we might just be about to see way more of this print on our Instagram feeds in the coming months - and I think I know why, too.

Unlike leopard print, which leans towards a warm, classic aesthetic, snake print offers a cooler, edgier alternative, making it a great alternative if you have a cooler complexion, or have been analysed as a summer or winter through colour analysis. Like leopard, it’s still neutral, which means it can be teamed with existing pieces in your wardrobe effortlessly, with the design lending itself nicely to leathery textures, which add interest to your overall look.

Holly Willoughby has recently embraced the trend, having launched a pair of Grenson x Holly Willoughby Nanette Boots in snake print for £365 ahead of Celebrity Bear Hunt. Known for her chic yet wearable style, Holly’s seal of approval suggests that snakeskin print is on its way to becoming a wardrobe staple. The boots are sure to jazz up your hiking attire, but equally, are trendy enough to pair with a satin midi skirt to toughen up an outfit.

And then there’s Taylor Swift. With Reputation (Taylor’s Version) expected to drop this year, the snake motif - synonymous with the album - will likely be everywhere. Could Swifties embracing snake-themed fashion further cement this print’s dominance? I, for one, wouldn’t bet against it. If cultural influences weren’t enough, 2025 also marks the Chinese Year of the Wood Snake. With fashion often taking cues from astrology and symbolism, it’s no surprise that snake prints are gaining traction.

So, now we know why snake print is going to be a major hit this year, it's about time we took a look at some of the top styles you can shop now to get ahead of the curve. Here are some of my favourites from M&S to Mango. For those who want to fully embrace the snake print trend, the Carla Midi Dress by Nobody’s Child is a gorgeous option. With its sleek silhouette and subtle earthy tones, this dress offers a sophisticated take on the print, making it perfect for low key and dressy events alike.

Style it with knee-high boots and a leather jacket for a chic daytime outfit, or dress it up with heels for an elegant evening look. I particularly like the balloon sleeves and scarf detailing, while the under bust seams are designed to flatter your figure. Available in sizes 4-18, you can shop the dress here. If you prefer a more subtle nod to the trend, the M&S Faux Leather Bowler Bag is an easy way to incorporate snake print into your everyday wardrobe. The design features two elongated top handles for easy carry and a practical zip closure, which opens to reveal a fully lined interior with a handy slip pocket.

The neutral colour palette means it will go well with most outfits to add a splash of pattern, pairing particularly well with hues like olive green. With its structured shape and practical size, this bag is ideal for work or weekend outings, though one shopper did find it to be smaller than they’d initially thought, commenting: “This is a lovely and fashionable bag in two attractive colours . It arrived smaller than I thought it would be but that’s my fault for not checking measurements.”.

Another shopper added: “Handbag very good value for money. Looks & feels good, lovely colour.” You can shop the £39.50 bag here. Ballet flats and Mary Janes are still a popular shoe choice for 2025, and these River Island’s Grey Snake Print Pointed Shoes marry the footwear fave with the pattern of the moment beautifully. Costing £30, they have a sleek pointed toe and edgy buckle strap detail, perfect for adding some personality to both office and evening wear.

The muted grey snake print ensures they remain versatile while still making a statement. Pair them with tailored trousers for a polished look or wear them with a midi dress for a playful contrast. Available in sizes 2-8, these snazzy shoes are selling fast, so snap them up here for £30. Mango’s Mesh Snake Print Top, coming in at £16 , is a super affordable way to bring some snake print into your wardrobe. The sheer, fitted design makes it ideal for layering, whether under a slip dress for a Y2K-inspired look or tucked into high-waisted jeans for effortless cool-girl styling. The neutral grey tones keep it versatile, while the snake print adds just the right amount of edge. There are endless ways to wear this, including with leather trousers or under a blazer. However, it’s only available in quite a narrow size range, coming in size 6-14. You can buy it here on the ASOS website.
