A group of friends were horrified after taking a picture while hiking and noticing something strange lurking in the background - the snap has gone viral for all the wrong reasons. Many of us love taking snaps with our friends and loved ones while on a day out. From selfies, to group shots or scenic pics it is fun to commemorate the day.
Recently, while on a day out in Chile, six friends posed for a smiley shot, but there appears to be something amiss in the seemingly innocent snap. If you look closely, you will see a creepy figure in the back. Peeking out between the two women at the bottom of the picture is what appears to be another smiling face - but they didn't have anyone one else with them. The group shared the picture with other friends, who were left shocked by the apparent photobomber.
The picture was shared on social media and viewed 29,000 times. Users took to the comments section to share their thoughts – with many horrified by the creepy face, and others questioning if the image was an edited prank. One person commented and said: "Holy s**t my stomach dropped." Another shocked individual added: "I didn't see it at first time and when I did zoom randomly I noticed it, almost had a heart attack.".
Another person likened it to the character of Regan in The Exorcist. Another joked: "If that's not a ghost face, they really did not want that person along on the trip!" Someone else added: "That is f***ing terrifying-even if it's fake." "Gotta love when people post pictures with no explanation, makes my imagination fly," said another viewer.
