The FTSE 100 index is poised for a much stronger session, with IG Index futures pointing to a rise of about 63 points at the opening bell. The improvement follows a run of lacklustre trading, including yesterday after the top flight edged 9.69 points or 0.11% higher to close at 8668.67.
Leading Asia markets have also strengthened, with the Hang Seng index up more than 3% and the Shanghai Composite about 1% higher. US markets had another mixed session on Tuesday, as the S&P 500 index and Dow Jones Industrial Average closed higher but the Nasdaq Composite fell 1.4%.
