Ideas of a Scandinavian kitchen bring to mind images of light wood and clean, minimalistic surfaces - but one couple have angered the masses with their Scandi kitchen makeover. TikTok user and Danish design enthusiast Nicole Lily Holmes posted a video online showing off her new and improved kitchen but not everyone is convinced they made the right decision. 'My husband and I decided to remove all our cupboard doors to make the kitchen look more Scandinavian,' she wrote on the divisive video. 'What do you think?'.

As she continues filming, the plates can be seen haphazardly stacked with the pantry items also spilling out. 'We've never seen this done before in a kitchen, we are totally in love with it!!' the interior design enthusiast wrote in the caption.

But one viewer did not see the beauty in the new setup, commenting: 'I feel stressed, overwhelmed and anxious and I'm not even there.'. Others were also quick to share their thoughts on the messy makeover. 'Beautiful. It's like I'm having a panic attack in an IKEA basement,' joked another. 'Scandinavian kitchen is also clutter free,' pointed out another. 'Girl… I was waiting for the after,' wrote someone else.

'I love it. You should also throw out your dressers and pile your clothes on the floor. I park my car in my living room,' declared another viewer. Other users expressed their skepticism over the 'makeover.'. 'I have a feeling you're just painting them but this is excellent rage bait lol,' chimed in another. In a comment on the post, Nicole confirmed that it was a joke - but didn't say what they were actually doing to the kitchen.

'Who is actually not seeing it as a joke? I'm so worried for the world (especially Scandinavia),' she laughed. It's not the first time homeowners have posted a divisive makeover online. Last year, a homeowner was slammed by critics for turning a Tudor-style mansion into newbuild-style contemporary home. Tudor-home lover Fabiola posted a video showcasing the transformation to their Instagram account @littletudordiary. The video, which appeared to have been posted by a construction firm, reveals how the homeowner wanted the property to have the style of a French country home. Builders removed the timber façade and replaced it with a clean grey finish with dark grey window frames.
