A TEACHER has allegedly stabbed an eight-year-old student to death at a school in South Korea. The female teacher, in her 40s, confessed to the frenzied attack after cops found her and the young girl inside the Daejeon elementary school on Monday evening, say local authorities. The girl was discovered by police on the second floor of the school after her parents reported her missing. She had stab wounds to her neck and face, a local fire department official told Reuters.

The student was rushed to hospital "in an unconscious state" and tragically died a short time later. The teacher also had stab wounds on her neck and arm with officials now investigating if they may have been self-inflicted, local media added. She reportedly underwent surgery on her injuries and is due to be questioned by police when she regains her health. As cops continue to look into the alleged fatal assault it has been revealed that the girl was at an after-school child care session.
