An iconic horror actor looks far from his fan-favourite character as he was snapped in costume for a bizarre new Disney-inspired film. After the character of Steamboat Willie went into the public domain on January 1, 2024, Screamboat was announced shortly after giving the beloved mouse a frightening twist.

A synopsis for the bizarre films gives fans a taste of what to expect, reading: ‘Screamboat follows a group of New Yorkers on a late-night ferry ride that turns deadly when a mischievous mouse begins a rampage, targeting unsuspecting passengers. ‘The unlikely crew must band together to thwart the murderous menace before their relaxing commute turns into a nightmare.’.

The film stars David Howard Thornton as the murderous mouse, who many may know for his role in the Terrifier franchise as Art The Clown. But David has swapped his monochromatic makeup for a costume far more chaotic as a first-look image from Screamboat teased his character in all its glory.
David can be seen in a grey-heavy mouse costume, complete with enormous ears and Willie’s signature shorts with two large buttons. The snap shows him screaming maniacally white brandishing a large, blood-soaked harpoon. Speaking to Variety, director and writer Steven LaMorte shared his excitement to be working with the beloved horror actor following his recent big-screen outing in Terrifier 3, which broke box office records for the franchise.
