Spotting one of your favourite designer brands in a charity shop can make you feel insanely lucky - especially when they come with a bargain price tag. Charity shop browsing has become a trendy hobby, with the thrill of the hunt offering endless surprises – from high-end fashion to the latest books and toys, sometimes for mere pennies. And one woman who hit the jackpot recently was Lola Amuah – who took to Facebook to share her excitement about a charity shop that was showcasing Valentine's Day goodies, prompting her to take a closer look.
Peering through the window, she exclaimed: "I just spotted a Kate Spade bag, we need to go get it, quick," before dashing inside. Lola filmed her rush to the back room to ask the staff for the coveted item. "Ladies, there's a bag in the front of the shop that I need - do you know which one?" she inquired. The staff initially thought she was after a shiny, red, brand-new Marc Jacobs bag with tags, but Lola had her heart set on another.
They retrieved the Kate Spade bag for her. "Wow, this is like new," she gushed, admiring the find and remarking, "That is so pretty". When purchasing the product, the cashier remarked: "I bought a big one from T K Maxx, it was three-hundred and something pounds.". Lola responded: "Yeah they're not cheap". After leaving the store with her bargain find for only £10, Lola excitedly shared the deal online.
Although the video doesn't specify which Kate Spade bag it was, a similar one on their official website is priced at an RRP of £299 but has been discounted to £169. Most Kate Spade bags are usually sold starting at £170. In the comments of the video, viewers praised the shop staff's integrity. One person commented: "It's refreshing as those ladies know the value of the items full price and still didn't buy it themselves. Not sure I could be so restrained".
