A woman has shared footage of a prank that went hilariously wrong after she sent a "fake" Christmas card to her grandma, June. Tegan took to TikTok after the card she penned "from Jean and Gordon" appeared to "backfire". After reading the card whilst she ate her tea, gran June soon slammed the card's "atrocious writing" before recalling her time working with Jean for 20 years.
"She used to come to my house and cut my hair," she said. "Her husband died and then she met this lovely man and they've had a great time together - been on a cruise.". Reading the card back further to Tegan, June continued: "Gordon hasn't been so well and has had a knee-replacement. Hope you and [husband] Geoff are well, he was always the life and soul of the party. Big news our end, we're making the move back to Manchester in February.".
"She must have married again and he died too before she met Gordon," June pondered before reiterating: "Her writing is atrocious - she used to be such a good writer". She then handed the card back to Tegan, who declared of her own handwriting: "You're right, it is bad!".
June then proceeded to write a card back to make-believe Jean as Tegan managed to contain her laughter. "The whole story about Jean is making me scream!" one TikTok user penned in response. "I didn’t even write anything about Jean's dead husband - she just went off on one!" Tegan said.
