A British backpacker has expressed her horror after having some of her possessions stolen from a campsite whilst she slept. Gabby Morgan is currently travelling in Australia - in Darwin specifically - where she says the incident took place. Taking to TikTok, where she documents her radventures, the backpacker hit out at the thief who left without a trace.

"I'm absolutely fuming," she began in a video. "This is what it's like in Darwin - we're staying in FreeSpirit [resort and holiday park] on the campsite and you'd think your stuff would be safe." However, that clearly wasn't the case for Gabby. "We've woken up and someone has stolen our whole fridge," she said. "They've just taken it - it had all our food in it, all our alcohol - that's literally like $400 [£201 approx.] gone.".

That wasn't the only thing that was taken though as a mortified Gabby continued: "Not only that - you can't even leave your washing on the line because they've stolen all my knickers." She then directed her camera to pinpoint where her underwear had been hanging, whilst also showing no other clothes had been removed.

"Just the knickers - nothing else," she continued. Honestly it just frustrates me. Being a backpacker we work our a***s off to earn these things for travelling just for someone to go and steal all our stuff. What is the purpose in it? I don't understand.

Several Australians commented on the video to suggest such activity isn't uncommon in the area. "After living in Darwin for 30 years the best thing I ever did was leave," one person said. Another added: "Sounds normal for Darwin. All Aussies know this but sadly the backpackers don't. There are certain spots I'd stay away from if I was traveling to Australia.".
