A professional cuddler who makes a living from hugging clients has said that her service is so popular there is a waitlist. Aleksandra Kasperek launched the unusual business two years ago in Katowice, Poland - after reading about a similar idea online.

Ania Od Przytulania is the only professional cuddling salon in Silesia, a historical region that lies mostly in southwestern Poland, and already has a steady client base – especially among those aged 40 to 60. 'There is really great interest in the salon,' Aleksandra said. 'I didn't expect there would be so many people interested.

'Although it is sad how many people are lonely. 'Due to high demand, appointments must even be made several days in advance.'. Aleksandra, who has a degree in physiotherapy and is a trained masseuse, emphasises that her cuddling service is platonic. Each session begins with introductions and a gentle hug in the 'teddy bear' position.

Aleksandra Kasperek (pictured) has a degree in physiotherapy and is the founder of the only professional cuddling salon in Silesia. After introducing herself, Aleksandra asks the client about any health conditions they have - including a sore throat, a runny nose, or a fever.

She also asks whether the client is under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Then, the client is given time to read through the 'hug rules' which clearly state that any behaviour 'crossing sexual boundaries' will result in the session ending immediately.
