Distraught influencers have taken to social media to lament the temporary closure of London 'institution' Chiltern Firehouse - as they're forced to mingle with regular folk in other drinking spots. Emergency services rushed to the five-star hotel in Marylebone on Valentine's Day after a fire stemming from a pizza oven ripped through the ground floor, causing the partial destruction of the celebrity hotspot.

Dramatic footage from the night showed the former fire station and popular lodging for A-Listers and royals engulfed in flames while approximately 125 firefighters battled to bring the inferno under control. The Chiltern Firehouse, a restaurant and boutique hotel with rooms costing as much as £5,000 per night, occupies the Grade II listed building of the former Marylebone Fire Station. Influencers have now weighed in on the destruction of the historical building, complaining that they no longer have a place for afternoon tipples and 'mirror selfies'.

Content creator Sofie Sorlie racked up over 600 thousand likes on her video outside the celebrity hotspot where she urged her followers to 'pray for our second home'. Another account, Marylebone Boys, are similarly upset about the temporary closure of their 'home' and the 'void' it's left in their lives. The account has vowed to post footage from their time at Chiltern Firehouse every day until the celebrity hotspot reopens, adding: '[It] actually doesn't feel real that it's gone'.

Influencers are making a fuss about the fire-induced temporary closure of The Chiltern Firehouse, including Anna Hyclak (pictured). Content creator Franky, who goes by @franky.mc on TikTok, has followed a similar approach, recording his friends on 'day three without Chiltern Firehouse'. Meanwhile, a TikTok user, who goes by @mysexybananapeel, filmed the blaze from outside before asking: 'Does that mean no more Chiltern lunches?'.

'RIP Chiltern Firehouse, you'll live on forever in our hearts and mirror selfies,' said Anna Hyclak on TikTok, adding in the caption, 'you were just too pure for this cold, harsh world'. Elsewhere, influencer Nicole Gee said she is 'evacuating Marylebone until Chiltern is back in service'. The blaze broke out just hours before Valentine's Day dinner service in the building's extraction system, leading from the ground floor to the roof.

The fire service said the blaze started accidentally from 'burning wood falling from a pizza oven and igniting the void between the basement and ground floor'. London Brigade assistant commissioner Paul McCourt said: 'Crews worked incredibly hard for over eight hours in arduous conditions. 'Presented with a complex fire in a historically significant building, formerly Manchester Square Fire Station, firefighters successfully contained the fire, preventing it from spreading to neighbouring properties.'. Chiltern Firehouse owner Andrew Balazs, 68, also examined the charred remains of the hotel on Sunday.

Mr Balazs is a renowned hotel magnate who runs the Standard Hotels, the famed Chateau Marmont, and London's Chiltern Firehouse. The 68-year-old is the CEO of André Balazs Properties and was previously married to Ford Models CEO Katie Ford from 1985 to 2004. The exes share two children. The successful Hotelier, who has a net worth of £700million, said that the venue will 'remain closed until further notice'.

Mr Balazs expressed his gratitude to emergency crews, revealing that one of the firefighters tackling the inferno was previously stationed in the building when it operated as a fire station 30 years ago. The fire also plunged Netflix's highly anticipated Bafta afterparty into chaos after ripping through its party venue just days before the event. Months of meticulous planning and tens of thousands of pounds went up in smoke, with the streaming giant forced to find a last-minute replacement for its lavish post-awards bash.

Hollywood stars including Selena Gomez, 32, and Zoe Saldana, 46, were expected to attend the prestigious gathering, with many of Netflix's top talent set to stay at the five-star venue. When Chiltern Firehouse first opened its doors on the streets of Marylebone in 2013, it became an instant celeb hotspot, with the Daily Mail's food critic Tom Parker Bowles joking that 'even God would have to wait for a table'.
