EastEnders icon Lacey Turner welcomed her third child last month. The actress, 36, took to Instagram to announce their arrival, and later shared that she has named the newborn Gipsy Olive. Lacey posted a picture of the baby sporting an adorable knitted jumper with ‘Gipsy’ written across the back.

Her EastEnders co-star Natalie Cassidy commented: ‘Just the best’, whilst Bianca Jackson actress Patsy Palmer wrote: ‘Omg i need a cuddle rn.’. ‘Oh my….’ Diane Parish, who plays Denise Fox, wrote, along with heart-eyed emojis. She’s front and centre of storylines this week, as the BBC soap celebrates 40 years on air.

Lacey has also returned from her maternity leave early to partake in this evening’s live episode, which will be broadcast on BBC One and iPlayer at 7.30pm. Actress Lacey made her Walford debut back in 2004, but who is her character Stacey Slater and is she married?.

Lacey married her beau of 13 years Matt Kay in 2017 in Ibiza, after a year-long engagement that started September 2016. The pair have been together since 2006, when they were both 15 years old, which is impressive by anyone’s standards, let alone when measured against the infamously short yardstick of showbiz relationship longevity.
The wedding ceremony was attended by Lacey’s co-stars, including the likes of the late Barbara Windsor (who played Peggy Mitchell), James Bye (Martin Fowler) and Jake Wood (Max Branning). At the time, Lacey said: ‘I just feel really lucky. It’s really rare to spend this many years with someone and to still feel the same as it did in the beginning.’.
‘We don’t know any different, I guess, but I know we definitely feel lucky.’. Lacey has appeared in the BBC One soap for over twenty years as fiery Stacey Slater, and has recently been embroiled in a love triangle story with her once best pal Ruby Allen (Louisa Lytton) and ex-husband Martin.
In horrific scenes, we saw The Queen Vic pub burst into flames earlier this week. As the aftermath kicked off, Martin realised Stacey was on her own and trapped. He helped multiple residents escape, but could bare the thought of leaving Stacey alone. With that, he made sure Ruby was safe, and then went back to his other ex-wife.

Once free from the rubble, Stacey – for some reason – chose to talk to Martin about their feelings for each other. Following another small explosion, Martin and Stacey were still trapped in the pub. It meant they had to remove smashed pieces of wood from their path, hoping they could do it quick enough before disaster struck.
A piece of metal fell from the ceiling, landing on top of him. Will they be okay?. This article was originally published on 2nd October 2024. If you’ve got a soap or TV story, video or pictures get in touch by emailing us soaps@metro.co.uk – we’d love to hear from you.
