PS Plus Essential is the most affordable of the three tiers and has basically the same offerings as the single PS Plus service that existed before the 2022 revamp. The free games are announced at the start of each month and can be downloaded a week later. PS Plus Extra and Premium are where the price starts rising, with the tiers offering additional free games and benefits to justify the extra cost. Members get all of the perks from the tiers below, with the free monthly games for these two tiers dropping mid-month.
