Monday's episode of This Morning had viewers raising their eyebrows after Cat Deeley made a rather peculiar comment to Gyles Brandreth. On the ITV programme, Ben Shephard told the audience that Gyles was running on little sleep due to his recent trip back from the States on Sunday.
Gyles shared that he managed to hit the stage for a performance just hours after landing in Britain, commenting: "It teaches me that maybe you only need two or three hours sleep after all.". While Vanessa Feltz and Ben pointed out the inevitable toll of sleep deprivation, Cat threw in: "He'll sleep when he's dead.".
The remark seemed to take her colleagues by surprise. Vanessa chuckled awkwardly, while Ben said: "That was quite dramatic!" Unfazed, Cat retorted: "It's 'true'! Sleep when you're dead!". Gyles took Cat's odd remark in stride, jokingly responding: "And it won't be that long!" Ben swiftly steered the chat towards the upcoming segment, reports the Manchester Evening News.
But Cat's statement certainly didn't slip past viewers, with many flocking to Twitter to express their reactions. One viewer posted: "Cat 'you can sleep when your dead' what a thing to say.". Another tweeted: "Cat to Gyles 'You can sleep when you're dead' - wtaf?" A different user commented: "Cat is so awkward sometimes! "Sleep when you're dead!".
In the midst of their discussion about lack of sleep, Vanessa reminisced about her early morning radio days, saying: "At 3:20am in the Morning, live on air at 4am for 12 years!. "I did think, in a way, you're ahead of the game because everyone else is still slumbering. You've done everything, achieved everything, and read all the papers. It's a marvellous feeling, in a way.
