Rapper Kanye West has been ditched by his talent agency following his horrific online rant. The controversial rapper took to X over the weekend where he shared a series of shocking posts following his appearance at the Grammy Awards where he sparked fury on the red carpet when wife Bianca Censori stripped completely naked. On Monday, his X account was finally suspended following his rampage of highly offensive posts.
As part of his tangent, Kanye endorsed dictator Adolf Hitler, praising him and disparaging the Jewish community. He added that he was "never apologizing for my Jewish comments" and posted a photo of Yeezy T-shirts with a swastika printed across them – a symbol commonly associated with Nazis. Just hours later, Los Angeles-based talent agency 33 & West declared they had dumped Kanye. Agent Daniel McCartney said: "Effective immediately, I am no longer representing YE (F/K/A Kanye West ) due to his recent harmful and hateful remarks that myself nor 33 & West can stand for. Peace and love to all.".
In addition to the hateful actions, Kanye backed disgraced rapper Sean 'P. Diddy' Combs, who currently sits behind bars and is facing sex trafficking charges and faces a myriad of sexual assault lawsuits, which he denies. Kanye made a plea to "free Puffy" and called on other celebrities to do so. According to its website: "33 & West is a premier global talent agency providing representation of artists and content creators in all spectrums of entertainment, including live music, comedy, motion pictures and brand partnerships." It was founded by JJ Cassiere, Matt Pike and Dan Rozenblum in 2018 as an independent operation.
The company continues to represent acts like Echosmith, Attack! Attack!, and Escape the Fate. X owner and apparent friend, Elon Musk unfollowed Kanye on the platform amid his abuse. Kanye later tweeted: "Elon unfollowed me so I'm not sure how much longer I'll be on twitter / X, If I'm taken off go to...". His post then trailed off with an invite to his fashion label's site, Yeezy.com. Kanye had his X account suspended at least twice in recent years after posting similar racist comments. In December of 2022, his account was blocked after he made antisemitic comments and praised Hitler.
At the time, Elon said the account would be suspended "for incitement to violence" after Ye posted a picture that appeared to show a swastika inside a Star of David. In July 2023, his account was unsuspended. Following his recent antisemitic tirade, Friends actor David Schwimmer took to his page to request Elon stop Kanye. David wrote: "This is so 2022. We can’t stop a deranged bigot from spewing hate filled, ignorant bile… but we CAN stop giving him a megaphone, Mr. Musk. Kanye West has 32.7 million followers on your platform, X. That's twice as many people than the number of Jews in existence. His sick hate speech results in REAL LIFE violence against Jews.".
He continued: "I don’t know what’s worse, the fact that he identifies as a Nazi (which implies he wants to exterminate ALL marginalized communities including his own) or the fact that there is not sufficient OUTRAGE to remove and ban him from all social media at this point. Silence is complicity.". Like this story? For more of the latest showbiz news and gossip, follow Mirror Celebs on TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTubeand Threads.
