Valentine's Day is the most romantic day of the year - and one popular restaurant has vowed to mark it in a special way. Italian chain, Prezzo, are celebrating love like never before by offering couples who dine at the brand on Valentine's Day a free meal for life - but there's one huge catch. Take your pick of pizzas, pasta or burgers at any of their UK or Ireland stores, and enjoy that same meal forever at no cost whatsoever.

The offer includes fan favourites, such as classic Spaghetti Bolognese, a spicy Rigatoni Arrabbiata or one of their pizzas. These range from a simple Margherita to a meaty Pepperoni - and all can be made gluten free. However to honour the sweet lifelong promise, Prezzo requires customers make a romantic commitment of their own - one that lasts just as long. To win a free Prezzo meal for two, all you have to do is... get down on one knee and propose while dining at any of their restaurants.

That's right - if you pick the official day of love to ask for your partner's hand in marriage, you'll both win a free meal each for life. Italian chain, Prezzo, are celebrating love like never before by offering couples who dine at the chain on Valentine's Day a free meal for life (stock image). The two meals can be any of your choosing, up to a maximum cost of £150. They also must be enjoyed on the same date of your wedding anniversary each year.
To be eligible, send the receipt for your Valentine’s day meal, along with a link to your engagement announcement on social media to Prezzo. Oh and perhaps most importantly, the restaurant chain will need to see your wedding certificate for free subsequent meals. With the cost of a romantic meal out of the way, it leaves more room to spend on a precious engagement ring - which a mathematician claims should cost around two and a half months salary.
Dr Tom Crawford, a mathematician from Oxford University, believes his method can boost the chances of a Happy Ever After. 'If you follow this recipe for success, you'll be giving yourself the best possible chance of getting that "Yes",' he said. The offer includes fan favourites, such as classic Spaghetti Bolognese, a spicy Rigatoni Arrabbiata or one of their pizzas (Pictured: Prezzo pizza calzone). The formula, based on an Asda survey of 2,000 people, calculates a 'proposal score' (S) out of 100, with 100 being as close to a 'Yes' as possible.
It is based on four key factors – the time of the meal (M), the timing of the proposal (T), the amount of planning (P) and the cost of the engagement ring (C). A fifth bonus variable (B) is scored between -50 and 25 based on a series of eventualities that could take place over the course of a romantic evening at home. Based on survey responses, Dr Crawford recommends starting the meal at 8:06pm with the proposal occurring after the main course but before dessert.
The optimum amount to spend on an engagement ring is 2.5 months of your salary, and you should have been planning the proposal for 68 days, he said. People hoping to seal the deal can boost their chances of success by giving a heartfelt speech (+8 bonus points), creating a romantic setting with mood lighting and flowers (+7 bonus points), and playing good music (+5 bonus points). Last month, Prezzo stepped in to lift diners' spirits on Blue Monday - also known as the 'most depressing day of the year'.
Blue Monday falls on the third week of January, when post-Christmas blues, drab weather, debt and low motivation levels culminate in a low mood for many. The two Prezzo meals can be any of your choosing, up to a maximum cost of £150. But in a bid to lift customers' spirits, the chain offered its main dishes for a whopping 99p only. For under a quid diners indulged in any of the items listed on Prezzo's 99p Blue Monday Special when they ate in.
The offer included fan favourites, such as classic Spaghetti Bolognese, a spicy Rigatoni Arrabbiata or one of their pizzas. James Brown, Prezzo CEO told the Yorkshire Post: 'January can be a tough month for many, with the post-holiday season pinch and the cold weather sweeping across the UK. 'At Prezzo, we wanted to offer our customers a little pick-me-up with our Blue Monday 99p menu. It's the perfect opportunity to connect with friends and family, and enjoy the delicious Italian food Prezzo is known for – all an affordable price'.
