Valentine's Day is the perfect time to show your partner how much you love and appreciate them. Whether you splash out on a dozen red roses and chocolate or keep it a little more simple with a card and a hug, there are many ways that you can express adoration for your favourite person. That's where Aldi steps in. This Valentine's Day, you can look like you've really gone the extra mile without breaking the bank, as the cheapest meal they have on offer will set you back just £5.36 per person - and yes, that includes a bonus bottle of bubbles, too! So, you don't have to scroll social media desperately to find inspiration because inspiration is only a supermarket trip away.

This heart-shaped garlic bread was not only adorable but delicious, too. It's the perfect way to start off a Valentine's meal, and it doesn't matter that you're going to have garlic breath...because your partner will, too! For me, this was the highlight of the meal, as it was soft, cheesy, and didn't really taste like shop-bought garlic bread. It felt far more like a restaurant standard, and for the price, you really can't complain.

This pizza, given the price and the fact that it's an oven pizza, was actually pretty tasty. It had enough meat on it to satisfy even the most carnivorous of people and had a slight kick to it thanks to the red chillis all over it. It was cheesy, the base was a nice thickness, and it was satisfying. I do think, however, that the cheapest option should maybe have more variety, as garlic bread followed by pizza is quite heavy.

These pancakes desperately needed a dipping sauce or something with them – because finishing off this incredibly cheesy meal with dry pancakes does not feel romantic. Yes, they might be heart-shaped and pink inside when you bite into them, but at the end of the day, they taste like scotch pancakes. I'm not sure I want to eat dry scotch pancakes at the end of an otherwise rather tasty meal. Perhaps if you drizzled some warm Nutella over them or had a pot of melted chocolate to dip them in, it might be a bit more appetising. Or even some cut-up strawberries. It just needed something else.

Not all Prosecco is made equal, but I can guarantee that you and your loved one will absolutely love this fizz. It was delicious and bubbly – and if you told me it was a £20 one, I'd 100% believe you because it tasted that good. Normally, Prosecco under £5 can be a little bit iffy, but this freebie was absolutely brilliant. Considering how cheap it is, this meal could really hit the spot to make a perfect Valentine's Day meal without spending too much money. There's so much pressure on making Valentine's Day aesthetically pleasing and with many opting to post what they got and did on social media, it can make you feel inferior when you're not doing the exact same. But as long as you and your favourite person feel loved and appreciated, that's all that matters. And this meal is a sure-fire way to do that, for just over a tenner!.

If you were looking for an aesthetic centre-piece for your table, though, Blondie's Kitchen has just the thing for you. Their seven-inch personalised cookie has a chocolate iced message, a red vanilla frosted edge, and is decorated with silver sprinkles and sugared red hearts. This way, you can look like you've truly pushed the boat out, and you've still spent under £30 on yourself and your significant other. It's a no-brainer.
